Embrace the Upheaval of Women

The time has finally come, we as a civilization, for the past century, have grown in a direction of improvement, in many different aspects. Even though, there may exist some exceptions, governments around the world have reinforced the concept of freedom in the people who populate earth. The freedom to say whatever they want to say, to believe in whatever they want to believe, and to choose whichever they want to choose. Now, we must continue further that same road and hope that by setting the right example, the rest will follow.

There is nothing worse in life than to think that just because you have had an idea all your life doesn't mean you could be wrong. Even one of the greatest philosophers of the XXI century, Bertrand Russell, once said, "I would never die for my beliefs because I could be wrong". In that sense, I urge the people who are reading this post to evolve their way of thinking and look ahead.

Since the beginning of time, we have been conditioned to think that the position of women in society is to become the best breeders of children. While the man's position has been to ensure the means for such breeding. I am afraid that notion is completely deviated. Just because it has been the belief for as long as we can remember provides no evidence whatsoever that this is indeed accurate. It is time that we embrace the upheaval of women.

A 2007 Goldman Sachs report says: "Closing the gap between male and female employment rates would have huge implications for the global economy, boosting U.S. GDP by as much as 9%, Eurozone GDP by 13%, and Japanese GDP by 16%." And this is only the beginning, "In developing countries, it has been documented that women reinvest 90% of their income in their families and communities, compared to men who reinvest only 30% to 40% of their income—with the remainder going to extravagances such as alcohol and cigarettes", says Maddy Dychtwald, author of "Influence: How Women’s Soaring Economic Power Will Transform Our World for the Better."

You may then ask, who then, will raise the children? It is a faltering idea that time is insufficient to play the role of parental units. With the right organization, anything is really possible, it just requires a bigger effort. Then truly, what are we doing with our lives if it isn't giving our best effort? Let's stop wasting our time. Let's set the better example.
